Food for Thought:

Pairing a Celebrated Regional Chef with Your Event's Success

Our culinary relationships are expanding with celebrated regional chef's who offer a new interpretation and inspiration in the region's event industry.

TONY AMBROSE has been known as one of the most creative chefs in Boston for over 20 years. His catering and events expertise is a tasteful blend of Asian and French Cultures. When we partner with Tony, guests will experience the exquisite, exotic, and the unforgettable in gastronomie.

Recently, BARBARA LYNCH, a celebrated regional chef and culinary diva extraordinaire, has been cooking it up in the events world with niche catering experiences. Her catering echoes the characteristics of her restaurants- excellence in creativity as well as exceptional cuisine.

JASPER WHITE, aficionado of the lobster and one of Boston's most beloved chefs recently expanded on his philosophy of "Food is Love," by launching an intriguing contraption- The Clambake On Wheels. His Summer Shack seafood is a regional favorite and now can be enjoyed during an offsite, outdoor event.

By special request, NXTevent can work with James Beard Award winner Chef KEN ORINGER, to provide unique catering for your events.

Fresh New Concept:

An Event for All Ages!

Recently in the global economy, there is an increasing focus and awareness on being lifestyle friendly and "family-aware." With the opening of the Northeast's largest convention center, Boston is attracting convention and meeting planners who have realized their attendees are more willing to attend a vital conference if his / her family is able to be engage in the overall conference message.

Noticing the revival of this trend, NXTevent has developed an events solution incorporating the "family-friendly", concept which can be used as a competitive advantage for setting a particular conference above the rest. This concept came to life during the first week of August, when NXTevent produced events for the National Conference of State Legislators (NCSL).

For the Conference's Welcome Night and opening event, NXTevent conceptualized a grand-slam family friendly evening at Boston's historic Fenway Park, the oldest baseball park in the country. The experience was enhanced with a few Fenway extras! From Wally the Green Monster to join the party, live bands and an array of local entertainment throughout the Park, we offered it all including dug out, batting cages and locker room tours! Guests of all ages enjoyed fortune tellers, face painters, and other carnival games!

The week concluded with the "Spirit of America Event" at the Bank of America Pavilion. An extraordinary reception transformed the Pavilion into a cultural exchange featuring regional cultural performers and artists. Present were Sidewalk Sam, the Cape Cod Fiddlers, an award winning "Dutch" jump rope team and First Night performers - Behind the Mask. The menu design offered quintessential Massachusetts fare in clever packaging or presentations, designed in collaboration with Gourmet Caterers. Yet, the evening accolades belong with a spectacular performance under the stars with the Boston Pops and celebrity conductor Keith Lockhart and guest artists Rockapella. After a 18th overture live canon salute, the evening's highlight was a"guest conductors" series performed by Senate President Teresa Murray and Speaker of the House Salvatore DiMasi! The evening's finale deserved its standing ovation complete with a surprise 2 minute and eco friendly confetti blast over the crowd!

Partner Profile: A Focus on Transportation Management

Peter Pan Transportation

Everyone knows that seamless transportation is the key to any successful event. In a city like Boston, the old cobblestone streets are narrow and often hard to navigate. For years, when transportation management demands the finest team and equipment, NXTevent turns to Lenny Rottenberg and his a knowledgeable and dedicated staff of Peter Pan Bus Lines.

Peter Pan Bus Lines has partnered with NXTevent and serviced some of Boston's largest city-wide events including the National Conference of State Legislators' Annual Meeting, and most recently, the AARP Tour Program, which was one of the largest tour programs to be executed in Boston! NXTevent is fortunate to have such a reliable and efficient partner to work with us on our program. Thank you Peter Pan!

Experiential Activities:

Learning by Doing- Navigate All that Boston has to Offer

Outdoor activities are the perfect way to transition from the lazy days of summer to the early fall. Boston offers an array of exciting outdoor activities!

The Boston Sailing Center offers a day at sea that can include a briefing and on basic sailing, on the water practice with sailing coaches, and an "Around the Island" race for novice sailors. After a hard day of racing, guests can enjoy an after race party on the deck with cocktails and spectacular views of the harbor.

For a unique and very glory dayso of college theme, spend the afternoon on the Charles River competing in "crew" (team rowing/sculling). The day will begin with instruction, so even if you've never rowed before, you'll learn the basics to guarantee a good time! After ample practice, the race will begin on the banks of the Charles.

What better way to see Boston then by bike, capturing the essence of Boston as you pedal your way through the city. Your route could originate in Boston Common and meander through the many parks and neighborhoods iof the City, or a 5 mile loop covering Boston Cambridge and all the sites in between. All tours are escorted and narrated by an experienced Bostonian bike rider.
